Commune is a social setup created for the well being of an individual. I believe in it. When I live alone I live with my own interpretation about life and with my own understanding about the processes involved in leading a social life. When I speak about my opinion in public the message often doesn't reaches the individuals in the same spirit in which the words come out if my mouth. This puts me in a predicament and creates lot of self doubts in me.
However, such self doubts are necessary to make self corrections. The commune is one dynamic and ever evolving beast. Getting involved in it is an easy way loose of your individuality. Half of our life unknowingly is driven by the needs of the society and the one who wield power in the society. We are taught to behave in a certain fashion and think in a certain way. Many take such surrender to the conditioning as a batch of honour. Nothing wrong in it as long as such surrender is a conscious decision taken for the betterment of the self.
Most often such surrenders lead to corruption of the self and at many times it maroons a human's self in the island of sorrow.
It becomes important to choose a proper commune. A commune can be for any purpose. It can be for a spiritual seeking, it can be for monetary purpose, it can be for the sake of moral support or it can be just for sharing thoughts.
But we need to be equally careful that we don't place ourselves in the prison constructed out out the ideals of the commune. Once we are struck in, we either have to become a rogue force to break such ideals or should have the capability to come out of it un offended. If both are not possible we should prepare ourselves to loose this life, living as a slave to those ideals. If I am right even those decisions are not in out hand.
We will always be bound by family, neighbors', immediate relatives, caste groups, religious groups, academic groups, economic groups and so on
One way or another they will keep influencing your thoughts and habits. For the fear of getting isolated and abandoned we will always clinch to a commune.
The underlying statement is simple. We need commune as a mirror to reflect on our thoughts and our self. We continuously need them to evaluate our growth. We always seek their acceptance as we do not know what is the ideal thing to do in this life.
If man has no self doubts he doesn't need the community's opinion;
If a man is self reliant he doesn't need the community's help;
If a man is fearless he doesn't need the commune;
If man knows the truth and meaning of this life he needs no commune;
Till them he will linger in and out of the commune for it is in his inability and the need for fulfillment arises the Commune
